Opportunity: Clearing Clerk – Accounting Department
Osoyoos Credit Union (OCU) is looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Clearing Clerk to join our Accounting Department with an immediate start. As a Clearing Clerk, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of transactions, verifying and reconciling account balances, and maintaining accounting records. You will work closely with other team members and external stakeholders to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Responsibilities:
• Verify and reconcile transaction data to ensure accurate and timely processing.
• Process and reconcile clearing and settlement transactions in a timely and accurate manner.
• Maintain accounting records and ensure proper documentation and filing of financial information.
• Assist with month-end and year-end accounting procedures, including reconciliations and journal entries.
• Communicate effectively with other team members, external stakeholders, and members regarding transaction and account-related inquiries.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as required.
Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in finance or related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in financial services or related fields.
• Strong analytical skills with an attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize workload.
• Proficiency in Accounting Software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Knowledge of financial products, clearing, and settlement procedures is an asset.
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $43,000 – $50,000 per year
