About the Role:

As a Financial Services Officer 2 at OCU (Osoyoos Credit Union), you’ll be at the heart of our member relationships, providing top-notch service and personalized financial solutions. The Financial Services Officer 2 contributes to the credit union’s success by working with members to determine and deliver optimal lending and investment products and services and by providing guidance and coaching to Financial Service Officers. What You’ll Be Doing:


Providing Exceptional Member Service:

• Building relationships with members by understanding their financial situations and recommending the best lending and investment products to meet their needs.
• Promoting and explaining products and services to increase member awareness and drive sales.
• Administering loan and investment products efficiently while addressing complex member requirements.
• Actively identifying opportunities for membership growth and promoting lending products like lines of credit, personal loans, mortgages, Creditor Insurance, RRSP loans, and credit cards, within your approval limits.
• Completing loan applications, assessing creditworthiness, and approving loans, mortgages, and lines of credit within your authority, or providing recommendations for decisions.
•  Selling investment products such as term deposits, Indexed Linked term deposits, and registered products to help members achieve their financial goals.
•  Providing guidance and coaching to Financial Service Officer 1s, enhancing their product knowledge and member service standards to ensure exceptional service is delivered across the credit union.
•  Acting as a mentor to Financial Service Officer 1s, modeling excellent member service delivery and offering support with complex member needs.

Sustaining Member Growth

•  Cross selling products and soliciting new members, fostering business development through excellence in product knowledge
•  Participating in the development of and supporting the achievement of corporate goals
•  Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of credit union lending and deposit services and products and relevant policies and legislation
•  Assisting in ensuring that Osoyoos Credit Union is well maintained and offers a welcoming member experience
•  Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


Education and Experience:

Post-secondary education in business or a related discipline and a minimum of 5 years of experience performing lending and investment functions in a financial institution, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Thorough knowledge of Osoyoos Credit Union’s deposit, lending, and investment products.

Completion of CUIC 210 (Consumer & Residential Mortgage Lending) and CUIC 240 (Fundamentals of Personal Financial Planning) courses through CUSOURCE is required within 12 months.

Join Our Team as a Business Account Manager!

About the Role:

The Business Account Manager II plays an integral role on the Osoyoos Credit Union (OCU) business lending team and provides management over a diversified portfolio of commercial member accounts and relationships. Incumbents for this position will have a positive and adaptable approach with strong relationship building and leadership skills that leads to successful and effective relationships both within the organization and externally with members. The BAM II is expected to possess requisite expertise for all types of commercial lending activities, as well as knowledge of products and services, legislation, regulations, current policies, and procedures.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Portfolio Management & Growth:
Creating value; growing member relationships; learning and development

• Exhibit strong business acumen with the ability to build a comprehensive financial package structured to meet the member’s needs,

• Manage and grow a credit portfolio, within set limits and an acceptable level of risk, by completing credit reviews, authorizing, renewing, or declining member requests,

• Ability to analyze member’s business needs, including evaluating loan applications and ensuring profitability and acceptable risk of the relationship, while providing appropriate documentation preparation and processing, as well as analyzing commercial financial statements, operating cycles of businesses, fluctuating profit levels, factors affecting cash flow, business plans, economic conditions and other commercial variables affecting loan viability,

• Evaluate security, calculate loan to value of security position and ensure documentation relative to risk, legislation, and regulations is compliant,

• Conduct credit investigations, security inspections and searches as required,

• Understand complex financial needs of members and provide global solutions,

• Grant commercial mortgages, operating lines of credit, overdrafts, and business loans within the guidelines of commercial lending procedures and the Investment and Lending Policy; presenting loans over lending limits to the President & CEO, Management Committee and/or Board Committees,

• Identify any deteriorating and/or unsatisfactory trends and monitor delinquent accounts, analyze status, and initiate action to collect delinquent loans, while evaluating risk in commercial loan portfolio and assigning risk ratings to all files,

• Ability to build both internal and external networks to encourage referrals, share best practices, and enhance product knowledge as well as capitalize on business opportunities,

• Proactively contact members annually in conjunction with their periodic reviews to identify present and future needs for additional opportunities,

• Keep apprised of changing rules and regulations pertaining to relevant requirements, as well as keeping a current knowledge of all OCU lending, and deposit products and services.

Education and Experience:

• Extensive tenured commercial lending experience
• Secondary school diploma
• Minimum one-year post-secondary formal education, or equivalent
• Business Administration Diploma in Accounting; completion of relevant CUIC courses
• Maintain proficiency with developing systems, applications, and productivity programs
• Combined experience and post-secondary education in areas directly related to the industry will be considered.

About the Role:

The Teller provides exceptional service to members by meeting their cash related deposit and withdrawal needs. The role contributes to the credit union’s success by developing strong relationships with members and actively promoting and cross-selling deposit products and services. The Teller demonstrates OCU’s values of integrity, professionalism, accountability and co-operation through their work and interactions with OCU employees, members and the community.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Providing Exceptional Member Service

• Develops strong member relationships and recognizes member needs to promote and cross-sell deposit services
• Communicates basic credit union product and service information to increase member awareness and generate referrals to other departments
• Develops business by recognizing membership growth opportunities and actively promoting products and services and referring more complex requests for information and assistance to appropriate branch staff
• Processes member transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, loan and utility payments, credit card advances, calculation of foreign and domestic exchange, cheque cashing and Registered product transactions
• Balances transactions, vouchers, and cash on a daily basis
• Participates in the balancing of the ATM machines including the accurate count and verification of deposit items and reconciling ATM activities

Sustaining Member Growth 

• Cross sells products and fosters business development with a working knowledge of credit products and services; refers more complex member requests to the appropriate credit union staff
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of credit union deposit services and products and relevant policies
• Assists in ensuring that Osoyoos Credit Union is well maintained and offers a welcoming member experience
• Other duties as assigned.

• 1-2 years of experience in a financial or retail sales and service environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
