For over 75 years, OCU has been a community-based, member-owned and governed organization that has proudly supported the community and various community events through direct participation and donations. In keeping up with the growth of the community and its financial and service needs, OCU is constantly changing and improving. Not only have we continued to support the community of Osoyoos, but we strive to support communities across the Southern Okanagan. This is why we are proud to announce that, coming soon, we are coming to the community of Keremeos!
Supporting Local Communities: Keremeos
Our Keremeos branch will be modelled after our successful Rock Creek Branch, which is centred around engaging with non-profits in the area and encourages shared space. We will be renting two office spaces from the Lower Similkameen Community Services Society and will be putting one of those offices to use for our branch. Renting space that already exists within the community allows us to provide the Lower Similkameen Community Services Society with stable rent and will allow other groups within the community to utilize the space when we are not there.
The branch itself will be open two days a week and will contain both an ATM as well as an advisor who will be on-site to provide financial advice. By bringing our services to Keremeos, we hope to not only support the community by providing space but also to bring our financial expertise. Financial literacy is incredibly important, and our Keremeos branch allows us to further support and help engage the community.
